KCCEB’s bus arrived today! Our first-ever transportation service will bring seniors to our San Leandro Community Center for workshops, classes, direct services and meals.
We launched the Bus for Hope in May 2021 to raise funds for a new bus to connect vulnerable seniors with essential needs and to fight anti-Asian hate back with hope. With the support of you, over 360 donors and a matching grant from Senior Assistance Foundation Eastbay, we are excited to launch our transportation service this Fall!
The first thing I noticed was the well-designed space for people who use a wheelchair. This bus is really important for those who have transportation challenges to get help here at the center.
On Sept 10th, 2022, KCCEB participated at the 4th annual San Francisco Chuseok Festival, in which our staff and Jikimee leaders successfully distributed COVID-19 PPE supplies, fun prizes, and our community safety survey! KCCEB’s Jikimee group took their FIRST ever ride on our Bus for Hope to the event.
